Reminiscent of the ‘Old World coffee from the Java plantations in the 17th century of Europe. During that time period, coffee underwent a metamorphosis in the several month journey in the damp hulls of the old sailing vessels.
This coffee blend is the attempt of Salt Lake Roasting Co. to produce a blend that captures the flavors and aromas of coffee brought back to the Netherlands by the Dutch East India Company in the 17th century. The result is a coffee low in acidity with an earthy, complex, mouth-filling flavor.
